MCAS Reading Tips
1. Read questions first, underlining important words.
2. Read italics
3. Read the story underlining important words or phrases from the questions
4. Circle puzzling or difficult words
5. Read multiple choice questions
6. Read all of the answer choices
7. Decide which answers you can cross out.
8. Go back to the text and reread selection, paragraph or line that the question tells you to read
9. Underline support for your answer in the text and put the number of the question beside it.
10. Fill in the correct circle in your answer booklet.
