My name is Corron Grasela. I have a Bachelors Degree from SMU (now U Mass Dartmouth), a Masters Degree in Reading from Bridgewater State College, and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) from Fitchburg State College. I am certified as a LINKS Trainer, certified to teach Soar to Success, trained to teach One Way, Bradley Phonics, and trained in Linda Mood Bell. I have recently been certified as an IRLEN Screener. I also try to keep up on all of the latest trends in reading. I attend conferences sponsored by Title 1, the Massachusetts Reading Association (MRA) and Mass General. Also, I represent Freetown Elementary staff at SEESA, which plans professional development for staff.
I have been teaching at Freetown Elementary School for 32 years. I began my career as a Title 1 Reading Teacher for two years. Then I taught first grade for 11 years, Third Grade Inclusion for 4 years, and finally back to Title 1 as the Reading Coordinator/Teacher. I have been doing this job for quite a few years. Mrs. Jacques and I have also presented Literacy Workshops at the Title 1 Annual Conference and at the MRA. Also I am the MCAS coordinator for the school.
