| The Freetown/Lakeville Early Childhood Center provides high quality educational services for children aged 3-5. Special needs children are integrated with non-special needs students (role models) in a regular school setting. The program is designed to address targeted areas of development for both groups of children, as well as special individual needs. The goal of the program is to offer young children high quality experiences which foster growth in the areas of language development, cognitive development, motor activity and personal/social skills. The early childhood center is staffed by certified teachers with assistance from trained paraprofessionals. Support staff (Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist) work in collaboration with the teacher and each other to provide coordinated services using a team approach within the classroom settings. The early childhood center is housed in the early childhood wing of the Freetown Elementary School at 43 Bullock Road, East Freetown, MA. |
