INDEPENDENT READING

Students are required to have a silent reading book with them at all times. Studies show that spending time each day reading can improve achievement in other classes as well as build vocabulary and help students become better writers. Every other week we go to our school library where students are allowed to renew, return and get a new book. They can also look at and take out a variety of other reading materials. We do independent reading in class every day as well as at team time. Any reading done at home each evening would be great!
