Welcome to my homepage, also known as Reading Power. Power stands for Providing Opportunities Within Everyone's Reach. Read on to find out about an opportunity to advance student skills in reading. The curriculum for the class will center around three essential questions. They are the following: How can I further develop as an independent reader? How can I connect with challenging text? How do I improve my vocabulary? Your child will read a variety of fiction and nonfiction selections as they work to enhance vocabulary and comprehension skills.
Grades for student work will be based on total points. Students will complete class assignments, quizzes,and journal entries. Participation in class activities will count towards each student's grade. There are opportunities for extra credit as well.
