Assignment: Movie Poster & Book Summary

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Select a MYSTERY book. As a class we will go to the Library so you can select a book. Have your book approved by Mrs. Brophy or Ms. McDonough
Read the book. On your goal sheet you will determine how many pages you need to read each week. Each week you will turn in a journal about what you read.
Create a movie poster. Pretend as if your book is being made into a feature-film, and create a poster that you think would make a great advertisement. You will need to include a picture of an important scene or character from the book, and a tag-line. Be sure to include the title and author somewhere on the poster. The size of the poster can be anywhere from 8.5”x 11” paper to a full poster size. Creativity Counts!
Write a one-page typed (or very neatly hand-written) summary to accompany the movie poster. Your summary should include the major events of the story, the setting and the main characters.
Turn-in both the movie poster and the summary by November 23, 2009
