Biography or Autobiography Book Assignment

8th Grade English

Genre: Biography or Autobiography

Due: Tuesday, May 25th

Assignment: 5 paragraph report and presentation

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Select a Biography or Autobiography book. As a class we will go to the Library so you can select a book. Have your book approved by Mrs. Brophy or Ms. McDonough
2. Read the book. As you read you will complete the graphic organizer provided. Be sure to use as much detail as you can. This will make writing your report easier. Bring your book and graphic organizer to class EVERY DAY
3. Write a 5 paragraph report about the person. Be sure to include why you choose this person, and what this person’s major accomplishments were. This report can be types or very neatly hand written. (5 pararaph outline)
4. Create a visual aid for your presentation. This could be a poster with a drawing of the person, or a timeline of their life.
5. Present you report to the class. You will need to give the class a summary of what you wrote. For extra credit, you can dress like this person during your presentation.

You will be graded based on the attached rubric!
