genre - a type or style of literature

fable - a short story that teaches a moral lesson

exposition - all the important information needed at the beginning of a story (setting, characters, etc.)

rising action - events in a story that lead to a conflict

conflict - the struggle in a story - the problem main characters face

falling action - events resulting from a conflict that lead to a resolution

moral - the lesson learned from the story

onomatopoeia - a word that describes a sound. ex. crash, boom, buzz
