The Outsiders

End of the novel project- Choose one
I. Draw a comic strip of your favorite scene in the book. Your comic strip must have:
- at least four colorful pictures
- at least two sentences under each picture summarizing the picture
- a title
II. Create a “Graffiti Collage”- Choose three slang words from the novel - include the actual meaning and the current slang word. Create a collage that is colorful and interesting.
III. Write a different ending to the story. Write a page that has a different ending to the story. You can change anything that happened in the final chapter, or write a thirteenth chapter. Make sure you resolve any conflicts of problems the characters have.
IV. Do an interview with Cherry. With a partner interview cherry for a local radio station. Be sure to include questions about problems that exist everywhere and how she feels torn between the Socs and the Greasers.
V. Design your idea of the perfect place. Ponyboy talks about his perfect place, what is your idea? Include details about what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch there. Write a page about your place. Include photos or illustrations. Compare your perfect place to Pony’s.
You will present you project in front of the class. If you did a drawing you will show what you did and explain why. If you wrote an interview, you will perform it with your partner. If you wrote a page about a topic you will summarize what you wrote.
This project will be due Thursday, April 8.
You will have some class time but you will need to complete parts of your project outside of school. Good luck and have fun.
