will be reading Frog and Toad stories in class
this week. Our comprehension strategies this week will
focus on character, setting, problem and solution. There
isno take home reader this week. Please read a book of
your choice for 10-15 minutes each night! There are no
spelling words this week.

Math Facts
This
week, our facts are doubles +1 facts. Please encourage
your child to think about the closest doubles facts and
then add or subtract one to find the answer. For
example, for 5+6, think of 5+5 and then add one or 6+6
and take one away. The facts are 1+2, 2+3, 3+4, 4+5,
5+6, 6+7, 7+8, 8+9 and then and the turn around facts
(2+1, 3+2, etc…). Please study the facts for this week
each night. There will be a timed test on Friday!
Social Studies
We will be learning about the discovery of the Americas.
